LENZ
LENZ is a fragmented portrait of a person obsessively looking for the purpose of their existence. They have locked themself in their room for the umpteenth time, convinced that this time they will succeed in discovering the meaning of their life. They speak to themself as chaotic and overwhelming memories, trains of thought and feelings come to them. In the empty space, wrangling their hyperactive mind, illuminated by one solitary lightbulb, they try to find clarity so that they can finally start living.
This performance is composed of and inspired by texts by Georg Büchner, Rainald Goetz, Sarah Kane, Kathy Acker, Jean-Paul Sartre, Bohumil Hrabal, an array of interviews and video material, and texts by the artists themselves. LENZ is an eclectic, cracked, lonely and tender portrait of an individual who, in an attempt to control their own mind, is beaten black and blue.
